The following protocols are PDF files. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5 or later to view them. It can be downloaded for free here.

Clotting Assay
Measure tissue factor procoagulant activity in cell lysates and other samples using a clotting assay

Factor VIIa enzymatic activity – I
Measure the enzymatic activity of coagulation factor VIIa using a chromogenic substrate (amidolytic activity)

Factor VIIa enzymatic activity – II
Measure the enzymatic activity of coagulation factor VIIa using a fluorogenic substrate (amidolytic activity)

Relipidation – I
Rapidly reconstitute purified tissue factor into liposomes (phospholipid vesicles) using Bio-Beads SM-2

Relipidation – II
Reconstitute purified tissue factor into liposomes using the octylglucoside dialysis technique (adapted from Mimms et al.)

SUV
Prepare liposomes (small, unilamellar phospholipid vesicles, or SUV) by sonication

Membrane Extrusion
Prepare uniform phospholipid vesicles (LUV) by membrane extrusion
